The new figures for 2012

These new figures are selected by our National Head Judge Hans Jansen op de Haar;

Four Lines Individual

Chair

Description

  • IN : at about ^5>30 flying sideways with an even speed
  • Kite will fly sideways during the whole figure
    a horizontal stretch of about 60°
    after a sharp turn (with the center at the middle of the kite) diagonal upwards till ^25>25
    after another sharp turn a horizontal stretch to the left till <25
    after a 90° turn upwards along a ‘false’ vertical till ^55
  • OUT : at reaching ^55

Scoring factors

sideways flight; first three legs - 30
sideways, straight flight; fourth stretch - 20
sharp, ‘clean’ turns - 25
size of the figure as given - 25

Arc Circle

Description

  • IN : kite at <15 in upright position
  • Kite flies straight upwards, followed by a half circle
    to reach >15, and then down to about ^20 all in upright position
    this is followed by flying a circle (towards center window) of size 20°
    while flying the circle the kite itself turns evenly 360° too (backwards flying)
    after the circle the kite flies down backwards and land at >15
  • OUT : after landing

Scoring factors

keeping the kite in upright position, as described - 30
backwards flying of the circle - 30
size of the circle - 20
size of the whole figure - 20

Lolly Pop

Description

  • IN : Kite at >15
  • The kite stays in upright position during the whole figure
    diagonally upwards till ^20>35
    the circle can be flown in either direction
    width of the circle 30°
    (no stops other then on both ends of the diagonal!)
  • OUT : after flying back along the same diagonal at starting point

Scoring factors

Keeping the kite in described position during flight - 30
size of circle - 30
correct entrance and exit angle of circle - 10
size of the figure - 20

Follow the Flow

Description

  • IN : at <45, kite standing
  • after 10° upward flight the kite flies half a circle
    width 30°, while turning 180°
    back at ^10 a stretch of 30°, sideways,
    followed by another half circle, 180° turning and a 10° downward stretch
  • OUT : after landing at >45

symetry of the figure - 30
correct size of the figure - 30
even speed - 20
clean transition of flight direction on both end of the horizontal - 20

Square and Circle

Description

  • IN : kite flying horizontally, forward at ^10<25
  • at >15 the kite flies upward along a ‘false’ vertical till ^40
    then, flying to the left, at center window the kite turns into a circle
    width 30°, all flown forward
    after finishing the circle, at ^40 center window, the kite flies the other half of the square
  • OUT : after the square and a horizontal stretch at >25

Scoring factors

suqare and circle of the same size - 40
no stops - 30
even speed - 20
correct size of the figure - 10

Two Down

Description

  • IN : kite at ^35<30, flying forward horizontally
  • first horizontal stretch flown forward
    first vertical (at >30) sideways; second horizontal at ^20 flown backwards
    second vertical at <30 flown backwards after a 90° turn at ^20<30
    last horizontal flown sideways
  • OUT : at ^5>30

correct positions of the kite during flight - 40
correct size of the figure - 30
straight horizontal stretches - 20
verticals at above OUT and under IN positions - 10
