Rules and regulation EC 2004 pilots

We look forward to meeting you all in The Hague/Scheveningen. At the moment we’re very busy organising the final details. To make sure we have a great Dutch kite party we would like to communicate some rules and regulations to you. Dutch people are very tolerant but please respect the rules of the Stay Okay and the rules on the beach of Scheveningen. Together we can make the Eurocup 2004 an unforgettable Eurocup.

Sponsor

The European Sport Kite Championship 2004 is part of the Nationale Nederlanden Kite festival. Thanks to the festival we had the opportunity to organise the Eurocup 2004 in the Netherlands. The Kite festival in Scheveningen is mainly a show for the public. On average about 120,000 people visit the festival during the two days and it has a lot of media attention. So we need to make sure that we give the public a great kite performance!!

- The theme for the kite festival this year is; THE FLIGHT OF THE CHAMPIONS, and that’s why we have the opportunity to organise the EC. This means that everybody needs to participate in the festival program and has to demonstrate in the Kite Arena; Team ballet demonstrations on Saturday and Sunday afternoon, a Megateam demonstration on Saturday and Sunday afternoon and Mega team night flying at Saturday evening. Sunday afternoon, after the competition, the price giving ceremony will take place. This also requires ballet demonstration of the top three of every class. So the public will have the one and only Flight of the Champions.

- Every competitor will receive a Nationale Nederlanden kite festival T-shirt and a Mascotte special STACK EC 2004 T-shirt at the registration desk. We request you to wear these shirts on the festival days on Saturday and Sunday. Especially when you give a demonstration in the Kite Arena, make sure you wear the orange Nationale Nederlanden T-shirt. We don’t intend to be a fashion police during the weekend and we expect everybody to respect this rule so that we don’t need sanctions.

- We also would like you to put a maximum of one team/sponsor banner on the beach for each competitor (pair/team). This avoids problems with the commercial policy at the Festival.

Be aware that the sponsors for next years Eurocup will have a look in Scheveningen during the weekend. A good show for the public is making a Kite Festival attractive for sponsors because they have a commercial exposure. Hopefully, we can make this show together in order to have a Eurocup in the next years as well

EC organization

Check in hotel
Your check in in the hotel does not mean that you are registered. The reception desk of the hotel will be open till 22.00 h. Please let us know if you expect to arrive later so that we can get your key beforehand.

Register and information Booth
Please, register before the competition at the EC organization:
Thursday at the Vliegerop office from 9.00h till 22.00h.
(Scheepmakersstraat 87, at the end of the street of the hotel Stay Okay)
Friday at the competition field from 9.00h till 10.00h


The competition entrance fee and accommodation fee can be paid at the registration desk. You will receive your EC 2004 pass, which gives you access to the competition fields. Furthermore you will get your permits for meals and free traveling and other information. Please make sure that you register before the first pilots briefing. The pilots with accompany guests are responsible for the registration and payment for their own guests.

Pilots accompany package (accommodation, kite party) 150 euro
Pilots package (accommodation, kite party, entrance fee) 50 euro
Saturday kite party 15 euro
Entrance fee EC pilot 15 euro

Speaker form
The EC and kite festival will be covered by an English speaking person (Paul Reynolds) and a Dutch speaking person. There is a request from them to prepare a speaker form. An example can be found on the EC internet page (www.designkites.com). Please send this to us at least one week before you leave so that we can prepare a package for the speakers. And be aware, if you don’t fill in a form the speakers will make up a story for you!!!

Ballet music
We have a DJ for the music. He will be responsible for the collection of your music. Please make sure that your music is labeled well. Also make sure that the music is stored on a CD. Please check carefully if your burned CD works well, it’s recommended to have a back-up with you on different media (MP3 or Minidisk).

Communication
There will be an announcing board at the hotel and at the competition field. Program (changes) location (changes) and competition results are published here. Please also notice that the language will be English during briefings and on the competition field, make sure that you understand all English communication with the Field Director.

The program

The program for the competition is planned between Friday 09.00h and Sunday 17.00h. The final program will be available at the hotel at Thursday.
